Are You Scared Of The Dark?

Are You Scared Of The Dark?  Most people are scared of the dark.  Especially if they are alone.

As far as the paranormal goes, I haven’t seen it all, but I think I’ve seen my share.  Let me give you a few examples.  This first true story comes from my book – “American Elite Fighters – Are US Tax Payers Getting Their Money’s Worth?”  Here’s a direct quote:

Phase 1 – Day And Night Navigation Course!

Special Forces students out at Camp Mackall – Phase 1 had a mandatory written navigation test they had to pass as well as an individual day and night navigation course.  If they failed, they were terminated.  The practice and real navigation course were spread out all over the military reservation south of the Camp Mackall compound.

The Night Navigation Course (practice & graded) always had a few to several Special Forces candidates throw away their military career because they were scared of the dark.  Once the sun went down and it was dark, SF candidates would line up at the Land Navigation Shack and get their 1st point for navigation.

They would then go to their home-made shelter and plot their point and take off on their own.  But there were some SF candidates that were scared of the dark and go a short distance away and hunker down for 03 or 04 hours.  Then they’d report back to the Land Navigation Shack and complain to the Land Navigation cadre that they couldn’t find any navigation points.  They just threw their military career with Special Forces down the drain.  Besides, the US Army Special Forces doesn’t want soldiers who are scared of the dark.

Anyway, with all those Phase 1 students wandering all over the place, there was bound to be some incredible and unbelievable stories most will never believe unless you were there and here are few of them.  Let me tell you about Going ‘Medal Of Honor’ On A Monster?

Going ‘Medal Of Honor’ On A Monster?

The Land Navigation Committee cadre heard every story, every snivel why a student failed to find his land navigation points during the day and night navigation courses.  They knew if they failed they were terminated and probably sent to a unit in the 82nd Airborne, so they came up with some wild stories!  Well this one excuse was a new one to all the cadre, the cadre never heard this wild story before and it was so ridiculous, they ordered the student to “at-ease.”

A student came wandering in from the night navigation course at around 0200 hours (2am).  His overdue time was long past meaning he automatically failed the night navigation portion of Phase 1.  Termination was inevitable.  Wandering in at 0200 hours (2am), he had a story that had the cadre ordering him to “at-ease” (shut-up) and go to his shelter and go to sleep and be prepared to move-out first thing at dawn to be terminated from the “Q” Course.

Morning came, and the student again explained his alibi why he failed the night navigation course.  The cadre looked at each other and decided to look into his story and this is what he reported.  While navigating in darkness through the rolling hills of the forested military reservation, the student was hypnotized on the glowing north seeking arrow that was deliberately offset so he could keep a magnetic heading that would lead him to his next and final point which was only a 05-foot metal fence post with a key to punch his card.

The Army Special Forces figure if you can find a 05-foot skinny metal post in the middle of know where, you can find anything anywhere in the world and are worthy to pass Phase 1. Dodging the eye poking vegetation, continuously monitoring his lensatic magnetic compass heading, and spot checking himself with his map using the red glow of his military elbow flashlight, he closed on his final night navigation point.

Carefully feeling with his feet and stepping over fallen vegetation to keep from falling he suddenly found himself pushed up in the air in the dark black night in the middle of nowhere! Screaming bloody murder out of pure fright, he dropped everything. Screaming bloody murder he went “Medal Of Honor” on a monster that he was on top of that was bucking like a wild bronco.

He instinctively grabbed his M16A1 assault rifle that was cross-slung across his back and began to hit the monster below him with all his might. Whatever it was below him was bucking wildly! Still screaming in the dark night in the middle of nowhere, he repeatedly down-stroked the thing with the rifle butt of his weapon again and again and again, against the “monster thing” below him!

Finally, the bucking “monster thing” collapsed to the ground and still he beat it with the butt of his M16A1 assault rifle over and over and over again. The thing stopped moving and he assumed it was dead. Getting his wits together and recovering from his frightening encounter with the “monster thing” the huffing & puffing Phase 1 student learned it was a deer that almost literally scared him to death. As you may already know, small deer will stay motionless when a predator is within range and that’s what that deer did till the Phase 1 student straddled it. Then it got up to run with the 150-pound Phase 1 student on top of it. The actions of this student demonstrated his instinct to FIGHT rather than run, no matter the scary circumstance.

Anyway, after hearing his story for the 2nd time, the cadre did go out to the exact site. The student marked a place in the dirt trail where to turn into the woods. Cadre and student in the military jeep, arrived at the site and sure enough, there was a long scratch mark in the dirt road that marked where to enter into the woods.

They homed-in on his same magnetic azimuth and sure enough they came to a fresh slain deer. The deer was recovered, dressed and eaten by the hungry Phase 1 students and that brave student was given another chance that night at the night navigation course – YES he passed! And if you liked this story, here’s another that will have you believe in faith healers! I gotta tell you most folks in that same situation above, would probably die from heart attack from pure fright! And speaking of monster, see ‘Holy Sh!+’ and ‘Panamanian Monster’ in this Book (see American Elite Fighters… below).

Now let me give you a couple more True Paranormal stories and I won’t hold back.  These stories come from my book “55+ True Incredible Mysteries!”  OK, let’s get started.

“Author’s Own True Ghost Stories!”

These are 06 true accounts of strange events that I personally witnessed.  The exact location of the first and second stories are kept to myself to respect the privacy of the site, its many employees and those that have passed.

When:  Summer 2004

Location:  Colorado

Subject:  Author’s True Ghost Stories (06)

1st True Ghost Story:  In June of 2004, I was working at a site that was not only a large complex but was a maze of floors, hallways, stairs,…  At one point I had to learn how to open what we called ‘the 4:30 doors’ cause they were all to be opened starting at 0430 hours (4:30 am) in the morning for the in-coming employees and there were 31 of these doors throughout this complex.

One person taught his route to me and I thought I had it down.  Then days later, a different person taught me his route but was a reverse of the first route I learned through this maze of a complex.  It really messed me up.  Anyway, on the 2nd route, it was about 0450 hours (4:50 am) in the early morning hours and I and the person teaching me his route were at the bottom floor and we were walking down this long hallway enroute to a large conference room of what is called the EOC (Emergency Operations Center).  The EOC was nothing more than a large conference room and in an event of any emergency (tornado, flood,…) the head officials of this complex would gather in the EOC to manage things.

The EOC was near the end of this long long hallway and it was on the right-hand side.  At this time in the morning, nobody but nobody was anywhere near this area or even on the entire bottom floor itself.  As a matter of fact, during busy daytime hours, this area is usually absent of any employees much less visiting personnel or patients.

Anyway, we advanced on the EOC and came within 15-feet of it and I was already picking out the correct key to open this particular door.  We closed on the door and this is exactly what we both heard coming from the other side of the door.

We heard approximately 12 – 15 women talking in English and at a loud volume.  They were all talking at the same time so I couldn’t make out what they were talking about.  I guess it sounded like they were “talking in tongues.”

“What were these women doing in this room at 4:50 in the morning?”  Nobody was supposed to be in this room.  Instantly, the first thing I did was look at the base of the door to see if there was any light coming out of the room.  No light, it was stone black dark in this room cause it was covered on all sides by walls – there were no windows, it was stone dark except for the light coming in from underneath the door from the hallway where we were standing.

“Why are they in this room in the dark at this early morning hour?”  The many voices kept jabbering about something.  It was now close to 20-seconds that we were hearing these voices and I tried to get my key in the door to open it.  I believe it was the wrong key so the other person got nervous and grabbed his key ring picked his key and inserted it in the lock.

Almost 45-seconds had now passed and the strange voices of 12 – 15 women kept talking about something, I don’t know what.  “What were they doing in there in the dark?”

Finally, the other person got his key in the lock and opened the door and reached in to flip on the light switch.  As soon as the light went on all the many voices stopped talking.  We searched the room and it was empty.  Only rows of desks and chairs in straight lines.  We both heard the same exact thing.  We heard the women’s voices for at least 45-seconds.  To this day I don’t understand what I heard.  I hope these ladies are resting in peace.

2nd True Ghost Story:  In July 2004 of the same complex as the story I just related to you, I was on an interior patrol.  Patrolling the 5th floor, I entered an empty hallway that’s been empty for years.  It was a secure hallway that required a magnet card and a number code to enter the hallway.  It was always inspected for problems like leaks, smoke, fire,…  I swiped the magnet card and entered my own personal code.  The green light came on and I entered the hallway.  In the middle of the hallway they had a computer still hooked-up and a phone hooked-up and that phone was ringing.  I ignored the phone and did a quick patrol.  The phone kept ringing.  Why is that phone ringing?  I had no reason to answer the phone for this place had been closed down for years.

I was about to leave this site and that phone was still ringing.  I turned around and quickly advanced on the ringing phone.  As I got to the phone, it stopped ringing and surprisingly a female voice came over the speaker and answered “Hello, hello.”

I then realized this crazy phone was actually making an outgoing call – it was making an outgoing call all by itself.  The female voice hung up and like a good observer, I took out my small notebook and copied the phone number on the caller ID screen.  It was a local number that this crazy phone was calling.  I put my notebook back in my pocket and left this secure site shaking my head.

Turning down another hallway, I ran into a co-worker and told him the story I just told you.  I told him “Look here’s the phone number I wrote down.”  He excitedly said real loud “Hey hey, that’s my number.”  Immediately we headed back to this secure hallway.  We quickly walked to the phone, he picked it up and called his wife.  His wife answered the phone and was real mad.  Seeing the same number from her phone on her caller ID, she yelled at him demanding “Why do you keep calling me and hanging up?”  He replied “I haven’t been calling you.”  He then told her the same story you just read and she freaked-out.

Later he told me when he went home, he found his wife an absolute wreck.  That phone in that empty secure huge hallway was making outgoing calls all by itself to this poor scared wreck of a lady.

3rd True Ghost Story:  My Momma died on 270035M March 2004 (Saturday).  I had long been suffering from some stomach problems.  This pain had been with me for at least a couple years day-after-day.

About a month or so after my Momma died the stomach pains really got bad.  I ain’t no doctor but I knew something was seriously wrong with me.  Staying at my Mom & Dad’s house, I went to sleep aching.  I woke the next morning (0700 hours) to the smell of cooking pinto beans.  I could smell the beans and thought to myself “Who’s in the house cooking beans this early in the morning?”  I sprang out of bed and cautiously went to the kitchen since I was the only one that’s supposed to be in the house.  I got to the kitchen and it was empty as was the rest of the house.

I then realized my stomach pain was completely gone.  Strange, my stomach has been hurting me practically 24-hours a day and now no more pain.  Then it dawned on me, my Momma healed me.  One of the last times she was able to talk, she worried about “the beansies the beansies” as she put it – that were cooking on the stove that day, weeks before she passed away.  At that time she was bed ridden and I told her not to worry, that I’d make sure the beans were cooked.  The unique smell of the cooking pinto beans was my Momma’s Heavenly sign that she was near me and she healed my stomach problems through God Almighty.  Thank you my Momma.  Even though I never told you – I’ve always loved you my Momma and you too my Daddy.

4th True Ghost Story:  I moved into my new home the Fall of 2007.  It’s out in the country just like I want it and the best part is I’m surrounded by thousands of acres of farm land and woods.

When I first moved in my house I let the cats live inside till I made a place for them out in the work shed.  One thing about cats and all animals is that their senses are far far far sharper than us humans and they definitely have a 6th sense we humans lost or don’t use.

I’m learning to key off the senses of these cats, especially for outside movement of any human or critter that may do them, my property or me any harm.  Anyway, while in my house, several times I’ve noticed one or more cats stop at whatever they’re doing and focus and stare at a specific point behind me or near me.  I turn around to see what they’re staring at and I see nothing.  I look at the cat’s eyes and they are still locked-in and staring at something.  Again, I turn around again to see what they’re staring at and I don’t see a dang thing.

When 02 cats see the same thing, their actions are exactly in-sync (freeze, head turns,…) like rabbits and other animals.  One day, 02 cats saw something in the kitchen and they froze and stared at something behind me and again they froze in-place at the same exact instant.  I turned around and I see absolutely nothing.

Whatever it was, if it meant harm, I’m sure them cats would have hissed, growled, fluffed-up,… but they only stared at whatever was in the kitchen.

I can only conclude that there is a ghost – a friendly ghost(s) in this house and it or they are still making themselves at home.  I hope they protect this house and cats when I’m away and they don’t mind me living here.

Wait.  I’m not done yet.  I wish I would have wrote down the exact dates and times that these strange events occurred but at the time I thought nothing of them.  Anyway on 03 occasions between January – May 2008, at approximately 0700 hours in the morning, I awoke to somebody knocking at my door.  I distinctly heard 03 LOUD knocks.  I looked at my watch seeing that it was early in the morning – for me anyway; I’m no longer in the military, so I like sleeping in when I can.  I got up, turned to look out the window searching for vehicles.  No vehicles and I was expecting to hear some more knocking – no more knocking.

I got up and cautiously went to the front door – nobody, the deck doors – nobody, and finally the laundry room door – nobody.  I then went outside (yes, with gun in hand), and did a 360 around the house and searched through the woods beyond my property lines – nothing.  Who or what did the knocking on those 03 separate occasions is a mystery.  I hope it was a friendly ghost.

5th True Ghost Story:  Just when I thought I was getting on in years and losing my talent for sensing danger, at 1300 hours exactly on Thanksgiving Day 2008, I learned I still got it.

In a good dreamless (I never dream) sleep (not dead sleep), I awoke to somebody walking down the hallway enroute to my bedroom (door closed & locked).  Sitting up in bed, the loud but soft (no hard shoes) footsteps got closer.  Already reaching for my gun right next to me, I pulled it out of the leather holster and quickly aimed at the “fatal funnel” – the doorway.  The footsteps took a couple more steps and stopped at my doorway.  Somebody is standing just outside my bedroom door.

‘Nobody has keys to my house and if they did had no permission to enter my house’ I thought refining my aim at the fatal funnel.  I only heard one set of footsteps so I figure there is only one intruder in this illegal home invasion.  I said nothing wanting to get the intruder think I was still asleep.  Just 05-seconds later, the footsteps sounded again, now they’re walking away from my doorway back down the hallway.

I silently got up and ‘damned that hinge on the bedroom door’ – it squeaked as I opened it (been meaning to oil it and other doors) attempting to pie-off the hallway in front of me.  All this time I’m waiting to hear any sound of the other three doors of the house open and close of the intruder leaving my home.  I heard nothing, no more footsteps – nothing.

I knew the most dangerous part, was me walking down the hallway to the rest of the house.  The hallway itself is a “fatal funnel.”

The intruder – if he knew what he was doing could easily pie-off the hallway and just aim center mass down the hallway and probably peg me while they still having plenty of cover and concealment for himself meaning I really have nothing to fire back at unless I wanted to guess and fire through the walls.

Exiting the hallway I pied-off to my left and right and began to pie-off the remaining sections of the house.  All the doors were securely locked from the inside.  Where did he go?  I immediately began to clear my house room by room searching for a hiding intruder.  I found nothing.  No evidence of anyone in the house.  All the doors were still locked from the inside.

Was I imagining the footsteps coming and going down the hallway?  No way.  I thought about it over and over.  I know exactly how them footsteps sounded, exactly like I sound when I walk except for one thing – I didn’t hear the hard tap as if they were wearing hard-soled shoes.  Them footsteps sound like me when I’m in my stocking feet.

So after pondering this mystery, I can only conclude that the intruder wasn’t an intruder but a ghost who probably once lived here.  Why?  Re-read  – 4th True Ghost Story in this blog post.

6th True Ghost Story:  Something is strange with this house I’m living in.  Remember I keep hounding you about the 02 Greatest Enemies Of Survival which are FEAR & PANIC?

Well if this happened to you, would you be overcome with FEAR & PANIC?

On 30 March 2009 at approximately 0145 hours in the morning, I was sitting on my sofa watching a video (Rest Stop).  Now I’m sitting there and I ALWAYS have a gun in a holster hooked onto my belt – just in case.  Plus it gives me that sense of security I keep telling you about when it comes to carrying a weapon or two.

Now I’m sitting there watching the movie Rest Stop when off to my half-right, I see a very bright flash – like a camera flash that came from my hallway and reflected off the adjacent hallway.  Again, the flash was like a flash from a camera.  I heard no noise from the hallway but it came from the hallway.

Was I scared?  No, not a lick.  I simply wondered about it for a few minutes in a logical manner like “What device in the house caused that flash?”  I never got up to look around.  After thinking about it I continued watching the movie.  I later concluded that there is nothing in the house that could cause a bright flash like that.  I have heard of ghosts appearing as bright apparitions but not a quick bright flash.  Mmmmm.

I hope you enjoyed these True Ghost Stories and they not only entertained you but now you’re a little bit more ready Anytime Anywhere.

Strange Update To 6th True Ghost Story:  Folks I’m not making this up.  As I update this Survival Book and reformat for Anytime Anywhere Survival Newsletters (AASNs) I have to add this to this Book.  This early morning (260230C December 2017 – Tuesday), I woke-up for some reason.  Looking around and trying to get back to sleep, at the corner of my eye I thought I saw a light in the hallway.  Not a bright light but like a dull flashlight, but enough light to lite-up the entire hallway.

Kinda sitting up in bed the light came on again for about 02-seconds.  I immediately got out of bed and grabbed my .40 caliber Glock pistol.  In my socks, making no sounds, I slowly walked towards the door to the hallway and pied-it-off in case there was an intruder standing in the hallway.  I slowly cleared the entire house.  Nothing.  Besides if there was an intruder in the house or outside (human), these cats would definitely let me know.  They’d run wild around the house.

I looked outside through different windows looking for trespassers.  Nothing.  I returned to my bedroom, secured my Glock and went back to bed.  And in a minute or so, again the hallway lit up.  Again I got out of bed and quietly walked to the hallway and stood there.  I stood there for a couple minutes waiting for the hallway to light up again.  Nothing.  This time I looked for any way anything in the house could light-up the hallway.  Nothing.

I went back to bed and stared into the dark hallway waiting for the hallway to light-up again.  Nothing.  I lay in bed trying to go back to sleep but couldn’t thinking may be somebody was in the house with a flashlight.

I got out of bed, grabbed my Glock and turned on the lights and searched to house for somebody hiding.  Nothing.  I turned-off all the lights, secured my Glock and went back to bed.  This time I turned away from the hallway and pulled the blankets over me and ignored the hallway and anymore lights that may show up.  Where those lights came from – I can’t explain it.

Panamanian Monster!

When:  Summer 1989

Location:  Panamanian Jungle

Subject:  Panamanian Monster

As you probably already realized, I must be a magnet to all this strange paranormal stuff and here’s late entry I decided to add to this Book (15 July 2013).

I believe it was the summer of 1989.  I was stationed at Fort Davis, Panama.  We had some down time.  No deployments, no prepping for deployments, no company or A-Team training, no support activities.

So the Team Sergeant, Sergeant M_________. decided we would conduct some “Adventure Training” for a few days in the jungles of Panama.  In the morning hours we would give each other our assigned classes to the rest of the A-Team and after lunch the rest of the day and night, we were on our own time.

I remember one of my classes was on Base Camps (Vietnam style).  Well we found our area where we would stay for the next 03 or 04 days and we set-up our perimeter.  A very wide perimeter.  We were all armed of course and we even brought our fishing poles.  As scheduled, we had classes in the morning hours and went fishing and took it easy the remaining day and night.  We caught plenty of fish and they were delicious.

I believe it was the 3rd night we were all in our hammocks B.S.ing and one by one we all went to sleep with our weapons in our hammock with us.  The fire went out and now it was pitch black dark, you couldn’t see your hand directly in front of your face.  We all knew better than to be roaming thru the jungle at night.

I think I fell asleep and woke-up.  I was laying there on my back looking up to blackness.  Then I heard movement behind me, may be a hundred meters off.  I listened real hard cause whatever the noise was, it sounded like it was heading directly for not only our camp but for me.

Listening hard, whatever it was had a great deal of weight to it and was walking on 02 legs.  It wasn’t 04-legged.  I could hear it breaking the deadfall with a “snap” “crack” “snap.”  And now I’m sure it was heading directly for me.  What the heck is it?  It was definitely walking on 02 legs and weighed hundreds of pounds.  It was no lost human roaming the jungle.  I wasn’t tripping, it wasn’t falling down, heard no voices,…  It was heavy and taking deliberate, slow steps – its heading straight for me.

Now I listened for any movement from any of the other A-Team members.  We posted no security cause at that time “all was calm” but we still were armed for action.  Everybody but me was asleep.

It’s getting closer and I’m the only one that knows something is coming our way.  I was cussing at myself for leaving behind my PAC-4 (infrared aiming system) and NOD’s (night optical device).  But the NOD’s probably wouldn’t work anyway since they need starlight to work and it was pitch black dark.

Now I started to worry, cause this thing was now only 50-meters and closing in on me.  Whatever it was, it was coming directly for me.  I wasn’t making any noise, but either it could see me, smell me or both.  It was coming straight for me.

I slowly grabbed my CAR-15 (M4) and positioned it like I’m ready to fire it.  I slowly rolled in my hammock and onto my stomach in a prone firing position, now I’m facing this – whatever it is.  “Snap” “crack” “snap” breaking the deadfall.  Whatever it was it had a lot of weight to it.

It’s too close.  I’m aiming into the pitch black darkness.  I figure I’ll miss with the first few shots but with my muzzle blast lighting up my front and I can adjust and send a couple dozen rounds into this creature.  Aiming as best I could at the sounds it was making breaking the deadfall, I moved my selector switch from SAFE to SEMI.

I could distinctly hear that “loud in the pitch black darkness” metallic sound.  And right at that very second when I took my weapon off safe to semi-automatic, the Panamanian Monster did a half-right turn away from me and I could hear it walking away from me deeper in the jungle.  It heard that metallic ‘warning’ sound.

I only told a few people this story.  I didn’t even tell any of the other A-Team Members the next morning.  As a matter of fact, the next morning, I went out to where I thought the Panamanian Monster was located – I found no tracks.

Was I scared during this true event?  No, not a lick – didn’t even think about it.  Again, all those years of military training paid-off.  I was on “automatic pilot” and reacted like a robot to a threat.  But I gotta tell you, if I hadn’t of woken-up, that critter would have got ahold of me and probably ripped me apart.  At least the killing commotion would have waken-up my comrades and I know they’d of put up a good fight.

Well, now forward to the year 2009.  In 2009, some Panamanian kids stated they killed or found a creature.  I don’t know what it is.  But his “baby” may have a giant parent or two somewhere in the Panamanian Jungle.

Just go to YouTube and type Panamanian Monster in the search box.  Several videos will come up.  Is this the same type of creature that was near our perimeter.  Thank God I was awake to hear it coming.  Think of what this creature could have done to me and the other A-Team members in that pitch black darkness environment.
