Are you having problems with cockroaches and their unsanitary droppings in your home? Have you tried those cockroach traps?
Well I tried those cockroach traps and I’m disappointed with the results. So I took matters into my own hands.
January to August 2019, I purchased a few boxes of those cockroach traps and was DISAPPOINTED WITH THE RESULTS. Those cockroaches left a lot of droppings behind and they were crawling all over my silverware and kitchenware.
Those cockroach traps were not baiting and killing the cockroaches. Here’s a photo with 05 cockroach traps in an empty drawer and LOOK AT ALL THE COCKROACH DROPPINGS (50+).
One day (1st week of October 2019) I got an idea. I was in the bathroom and saw a single cockroach in my bath tub. I went to the kitchen and grabbed an insect killer that suffocates insects. I use it cause it’s SUPER SAFE and has no cancer-causing chemicals.
I sprayed the cockroach and in 35-seconds, the cockroach flipped upside down and died.
So I got the idea to use this same insect killer (keep reading) on all my kitchen drawers cause it’s super safe.

Step 01: I first emptied the drawer.
Step 02: I wiped down the entire drawer (inside & outside) using a Lysol & water solution.
Step 03: I waited several hours and let the drawer dry-out.
Step 04: After the drawer dryed-out, I then wiped down (inside & outside) the entire drawer with an insect killer product called ‘Cedarcide.’ It used to be called ‘Best Yet.’ Cedarcide is a cedar oil and is super safe and has no cancer-causing chemicals.
MOST IMPORTANT NOTE: DO NOT BUY Cedarcide from Amazon. I get it straight from the makers of Cedarcide to insure you get 100% Cedarcide and it’s not diluted with a cooking oil by a 3rd seller.
To get the best deal, I always buy the gallon size jug.

Step 05: I have a small bottle of Cedarcide with a dropper. I take a dropper of Cedarcide and I drop a trail of cedar oil on the top rectangle perimeter of the entire very top part of the drawer. I figure the cockroaches have to climb over this part of the drawer to get inside the drawer. Coming in-contact with the cedar oil should kill em’ in seconds.
Note: When I first did this, I closed the empty drawer and waited till the next day. The next couple of days, there were a few cockroach droppings but not several like before.
Step 06: I reapplied a trail of cedar oil on the top rectangle perimeter of the entire very top part of the drawer. Again, the next couple of days I checked for cockroach droppings. The droppings dropped to nothing and one day I found one dropping.
Step 07: I didn’t keep re-applying the cedar oil every few days. I wanted something that would stay and keep for awhile. So I got the idea of mixing:
- 09 droppers of cedar oil
- Vaseline
–
–
I kept adding just a tiny bit of Vaseline to the cedar oil until I got a paste-like concoction (see spoon).
Step 08: I then applied the Vaseline / Cedar Oil concoction to the top rectangle perimeter of the top drawer and applied a thin line of the concoction to both sides of the drawer and the backside of the drawer. I did the same to the drawer (all Steps) below it (16 October 2019 – Wednesday).
17 Oct. 2019 (Thursday)——Found 03 droppings on top drawer and 0 droppings on 2nd drawer below
Looks like the Vaseline & Cedar Oil concoction is drying out.
Note: There are 02 more drawers below the top 02 drawers plus the very bottom base flooring of the kitchen cabinet. I’ll thoroughly clean these areas and treat them with Cedarcide Oil. I’ll put an extra coating of Cedar Oil at the base flooring of the kitchen cabinet.

25 Oct. 2019 (Friday)——–No droppings found in 03 drawers
26 Oct. 2019 (Saturday)——No droppings found in 03 drawers
Note: Treated 3rd drawer with Cedar Oil as annotated previously. Still have bottom 4th drawer to clean & treat with Cedar Oil. Plus, I need to clean and treat bottom base of cabinet set.
27 Oct. 2019 (Sunday)——–No droppings found in 03 drawers
28 Oct. 2019 (Monday)——–No droppings found in 03 drawers
29 Oct. 2019 (Tuesday)——-01 dropping found in top drawer
30 Oct. 2019 (Wednesday)—–No droppings found in 03 drawers
Note: I think when I mixed Vaseline with the Cedar Oil, even though it dried-out, it still had the scent of cedar oil and still effective in repelling and suffocating and cockroaches that came in close proximity to the concoction. The cockroach droppings have dropped down almost 100%!!! WAIT – still have more R & D to go to safely KILL those cockroaches. Keep reading.
31 Oct. 2019 (Thursday)——No droppings found in 03 drawers
Note: Just ordered a new bottle of Cedarcide (01-gallon). Total cost with FREE shipping comes to $___________. See notes below to get the real stuff and not the diluted Cedarcide.
01 Nov. 2019 (Friday)——–No droppings found in 03 drawers
November – December 2019—–Once every 30-days, I empty all the drawers and wipe the insides, outsides, underneath all drawers with Cedarcide. I place a clean folded thick towel in each drawer and place my silverware and cooking utensils in the top 02 drawers. The other remaining drawers are for miscellaneous stuff.
Here’s the POC for Cedarcide one more time. You have to get Cedarcide from the original source and not from a 3rd seller (diluted crap). OK, here it is:

FINAL NOTE: I live out in the country and every year the farmers around me grow their crops (corn, wheat,…). And that means field mice. I have cats and they get 95% of the field mice that invade my home. But sometimes them cats take too many cat naps and let a field mouse into the house.
So at the base of my drawers and cabinets, I placed some glue traps. I placed them in small tight places only a field mouse can roam and not any of the cats.
I BAITED each of the glue traps with a pinch of Instant Coffee on a piece of alluminum foil. I placed the pinch of Instant Coffee dead center of each glue trap. Instant Coffee, no matter the brand has a strong aroma, thus attracting any hungry field mouse.
