On Friday, summer afternoon, 15 March 2019 at approximately 1:30 pm, Brenton Harrison Tarrant published his manifesto on the internet. His 74-page manifesto was titled ‘The Great Replacement.’

At approximately 1:40 pm, located in Christchurch, New Zealand, Tarrant entered the Al Noor Mosque and opened fire on defenseless men, women and children worshiping in the Mosque. Some people huddled together while others attempted to evade.
At approximately 1:55 pm, Tarrant then attacked a second Mosque – Linwood Islamic Centre, approximately 03-miles from the 1st attack. Like the 1st attack, Tarrant opened fire on people huddled together trying to protect each other while others attempted to evade to safety.
Both Mosque attacks tragically ended the lives of 50 worshipers and injuring 36 more. Approximately 36-minutes after the 1st emergency call, Tarrant was arrested by local police and is being held by New Zealand police.
This New Zealand attack is the worst in New Zealand’s modern day history. New Zealand’s Prime Minister vows to reform the gun laws in New Zealand.
Reports surfaced from the Linwood Islamic Centre stating one lone worshiper, 48-year old Abdul Aziz, attempted to draw the shooter’s attention away from his assault on his fellow defenseless worshipers. His lone actions may have saved some lives. Tarrant may have prematurely departed the Linwood Islamic Centre location because of the actions of Abdul Aziz. But what if the whole body of Linwood worshipers took actions together to counter Tarrant’s murderous assault? (keep reading)

Could this attack by this lone killer be detected & prevented by police authorities?
Probably not. The attacker is reported to have no criminal record. He published his manifesto that was against the immigration of Islamics less than 10-minutes before the 1st attack at the Al Noor Mosque.
Even though Tarrant had planned his attack since 2017, no ‘Red Flags’ alerted local authorities of his planned attacks. Tarrant legally accumulated his weapons and ammunition.

Could this attack be COUNTERED at the Al Noor Mosque to lessen the loss of life and all together prevent the attack on the Linwood Mosque from happening at all?
No doubt about it.  You have to re-read “Only Defense Against Close Quarter Slaughter – Military Style!”

“Only Defense Against Close Quarter Slaughter!”

Will another attack on a group of unarmed & defenseless victims by a lone attacker happen again?
No doubt about it. It’s coming. Just look back at the history of attacks I’ve listed in the blog post link above. Strict gun control will NEVER NEVER solve the problem. Any focused attacker set on their murderous agenda can eventually gather weapons and ammunition even in a country where the strictest gun control laws exist. Therefore his / her victims are undoubtedly defenseless.  Enhanced information gathering techniques at the very local level and national level will deter attacks. Advanced internet software designed to search, detect and warn local authorities of possible attacks is also a step in the right direction to deter attacks.
However, all places of worship, schools, and many other gathered events where people meet on a regular set schedule must evaluate the threat to their own organization. Evaluate their own possible threats and take action with concentric circles of security and even rehearsed actions to counter any assault on their organization. I believe each organization must have their own internal security, even if it’s 02 people taking turns patrolling outside the building.
As I stated before, everyone has the right and everyone has the duty to defend themselves & each other, even small children.
