Here are 02 super foods that were eaten by bad ass Gladiators and super athletic Zulu Warriors:
- Zulu Super Food
- Gladiator Super Food!
Zulu Super Food!
No whey. Yes whey! Zulus warriors were in absolutely phenomenal shape, able to cover 50-miles in a single day and do fierce battle afterwards! Was it because of their diet of whey? Recent research shows that whey is a super food. It’s touted as turning off the aging process.
Whey is loaded with protein, it’s low in fat & calories, and its loaded with several amino acids (leucine, isoleucine, valine,…). It builds muscle by 50% to burn fat and helps turn off your appetite.
It helps raise the metabolism by as much as 68%! It helps drop stress hormones while increasing the amino acid – tryptophan that helps produce serotonin – the feel good hormone. It also helps boost mental alertness by 15%.
It’s also an immune booster and anti-oxidant that fights free radicals the cause the human body to age, become sickly,… It helps increase the body’s glutathione – the master antioxidant. German research shows that whey prevents cancers and most important, slows the aging process by 32%!
Tests demonstrated that animals on a whey diet lived 50% longer than their counterparts not on a whey diet! The best part is you don’t have to go to Zululand to get whey, you can get a quality whey product at your local health food store.
Look for whey products in powdered form. I conducted my own research on quality whey products and started drinking delicious whey every day (01 August 2003)! No whey? Yes whey, this is what I found:
I purchased a whey product called Ultra Whey Protein Powder 24 (French vanilla). It contains 24 grams of protein per serving (16 serving total), high in essential (body doesn’t provide) and branch chain amino acids (18), ion exchange whey, and stevia (sweetener).
Ultra Whey Protein Powder 24 cost about $16 for a 02-week supply. However, I turned it into a 30-day supply by taking 1/2 scoop (scoop provided) and pouring it into an empty small Arrowhead half-pint water bottle. I pour in cold pure water about 3/4 full and shake vigorously for my daily Zulu drink.
NO, I ain’t running 50-miles and pickn’ fights with Brits (may be the French). I’m still in the R&D phase. Just thought you should know about Whey – The Super Food! YES, I found several other powdered whey products. If you’re interested, look into whey as a supplement to your diet AFTER your doctor’s OK.
Follow the recommended dosage and instructions from the label and as per your doctor’s instructions.

Gladiator Super Food!
First let me tell you real quick about the famous Roman Gladiators. Gladiators (Christians, criminals, POWs, slaves) were imprisoned and trained to fight each other to the death.
One famous gladiator who escaped his captivity was a man named Sparticus. Spartacus with followers led a rebellion and terrorized southern Italy from 73 BC to 71 BC. Gladiators had to be in top condition for their lives literally depended on it.
What was the super food that they depended on with their lives? What was the superfood that helped heal their wounds? What was the superfood that helped rebuild their strength? It was sprouted barley gruel – barley!
And the famous Roman Army also depended on barley to support their warriors. Barley is a live food. It offers a bounty of protein (45% by weight) which is more readily digestible than meat protein. Barley also offers needed:
- fiber
- vitamins
- minerals
- amino acids
- antioxidants,…
