These Home-Made Carpet Tape Shoes are made for indoor use only. However, I’ve worn mine outside in freezing weather with ice on the ground and they did just fine.

I’m looking at a shoe magazine right now and their slippers cost $64.95 to $89.95 before taxes. We’re going to make some footgear that will cost you just a few bucks. They ain’t pretty & fancy, but they are ugly and real COMFORTABLE cause they’re tailor made to your feet!!! OK, let’s get started with Ingredients.

Ingredients: Roll of heavy-duty carpet tape (choose your color), scissors, 02 sheets of 8 ½ by 11 paper, pen or pencil, 03 pairs of socks, desk – hard surface, trash can, needle and thread (to repair outer layer of socks).

Step 01: Put on 02 pairs of socks. This is to insure when you make your Home-Made Carpet Tape Shoes, they’re not tight and are a comfortable fit.

Step 02: Place one of the 08 ½ X 11-inch sheets of paper and place it on a hard surface on the floor. Place your right-foot on the center of the paper and with the pen or pencil, trace the outside of your right-foot. Mark the center of the imprint and mark it “R” for right-foot.

Step 03: Place one of the other 08 ½ X 11-inch sheet of paper and place it on a hard surface on the floor. Place your left-foot on the center of the paper and with the pen or pencil, trace the outside of your left-foot. Mark the center of the imprint and mark it “L” for left-foot.

Step 04: Take your scissors and cut-out both traces of your right and left-foot imprints. Set them aside. Discard the remaining pieces of paper.

Step 05: On a hard surface (desk), place the right-foot imprint. Take your carpet tape, and stretch-out a section of the carpet tape the length of the right-foot imprint PLUS 01-inch and cut it and tape it to the hard surface. The extra length insures a good cut without shortening the right-foot shoe. Stretch-out 02nd strip of carpet tape and tape it to the desk. INSURE you tape the 2nd strip of carpet tape ¼-inch overlapping the 1st strip of carpet tape. Tape the 3rd strip of carpet tape and tape it to the 2nd strip of carpet tape. INSURE you tape the 3rd strip of carpet tape ¼-inch overlapping the 2nd strip of carpet tape. For more width, if you need a 4th strip of carpet tape overlap it ¼-inch on the 3rd strip of carpet tape.

Step 06: Take the right-foot imprint and place it at the center of the strips of tape. Take your pen or pencil, and trace the outside of imprint. Mark the carpet tape imprint “R” for right-foot.

Step 07: Keep the paper right-foot imprint for future shoe making.

Step 08: Take the right-foot carpet tape imprint and carefully pry it off the hard surface (desk). Pry it off from the 1st strip of carpet tape or the 03 strips of tape will come apart. Place it on the hard surface (desk), sticky side up.

Step 09: Take some Scotch tape and tape all 04 corners to the hard surface (desk)

Step 10: One at a time, take 03 strips of equal-length or more of carpet tape and tape them to the sticky carpet tape.

Step 11: Take your scissors and cut-out the outline of the right-foot imprint.

Step 12: Repeat Steps 05 – 11 to make the left-foot sole.

Step 13: Now we’re going to make the shell for the right-foot and attach it to the sole you just made. Repeat Steps 05 – 11 to make the left-foot.

Step 14: Take a strip of tape about 12-inches in length and place it sticky side up on the floor, perpendicular (facing left-right of your foot).

Step 15: Place the right-foot sole center of the strip of tape and take your right-foot (wearing 02 pairs of socks) and step on the carpet tape sole.

Step 16: Take the left-side of the strip of tape and wrap it upward to the center of the top of your right-foot.

Step 17: Take the right-side of the strip of tape and wrap it upward to the center of the top of your right-foot overlapping the left strip of tape. DO NOT wrap the tape tightly around the foot.

Step 18: Take a 09-inch strip of tape and attach it forward to the 1st strip of tape overlapping it by a ½-inch. Take both left and right strips and loosely wrap them upwards towards the top of the foot. DO NOT wrap the tape tightly around the foot.

Step 19: Take a 08-inch strip of tape and attach it forward to the 2nd strip of tape overlapping it by a ½-inch. Take both left and right strips and loosely wrap them upwards towards the top of the foot. DO NOT wrap the tape tightly around the foot.

Step 20: Take a 07-inch strip of tape and attach it forward to the 3rd strip of tape overlapping it by a ½-inch. Take both left and right strips and loosely wrap them upwards towards the top of the foot. DO NOT wrap the tape tightly around the foot.

Step 21: Take a 07-inch strip of tape and attach it forward to the 4th strip of tape overlapping it by a ½-inch. Take both left and right strips and loosely wrap them upwards towards the top of the foot. DO NOT wrap the tape tightly around the foot.

Step 22: Take a 07-inch strip of tape and attach it forward to the 4th strip of tape overlapping it by a ½-inch. Take both left and right strips and loosely wrap them upwards towards the top of the foot. DO NOT wrap the tape tightly around the foot.

Step 23: Now you should have just the tips of your toes showing through the shell. Take 03 08-inch strips of tape and cover the toes starting at the center strip of the tape and the center of the front of the foot. Then overlap the strips of tape by ½-inch on the left and then the right. Secure all three strips of tape with a 14-inch strip of tape going around the front of the foot going left to right in a full circle. DO NOT wrap the tape tightly around the foot.

Step 24: Now we’ll cover the rest of the foot. Take a 12-inch strip of tape and attach it rearward to the center (1st strip) strip of tape overlapping it by a ½-inch. Take both left and right strips and loosely wrap them upwards towards the top of the foot. DO NOT wrap the tape tightly around the foot.

Step 25: Take a 10-inch strip of tape and attach it rearward to the previous strip of tape overlapping it by a ½-inch. Take both left and right strips and loosely wrap them upwards towards the top of the foot. DO NOT wrap the tape tightly around the foot.

Step 26: Take a 10-inch strip of tape and attach it rearward to the previous strip of tape overlapping it by a ½-inch. Take both left and right strips and loosely wrap them upwards towards the top of the foot. DO NOT wrap the tape tightly around the foot.

Step 27: Now we’ll cover the heel. Take a 10-inch strip of tape and attach it rearward to the previous strip of tape overlapping it by a ½-inch. Take both left and right strips and loosely wrap them upwards towards the top of the ankle. DO NOT wrap the tape tightly around the foot.

Step 28: Now we’ll cover the back of the heel. Take a 10-inch strip of tape and attach it rearward to the previous strip of tape overlapping it by a ½-inch. Take both left and right strips and loosely wrap them upwards towards the top of the ankle. DO NOT wrap the tape tightly around the foot.

Step 29: Now we’ll cover the back of the heel. Take a 10-inch strip of tape and attach it rearward to the previous strip of tape overlapping it by a ½-inch. Take both left and right strips and loosely wrap them upwards towards the top of the ankle. DO NOT wrap the tape tightly around the foot.

Step 30: Now we’ll finish making the right-foot shell. Take a 07-inch strip of tape and tape horizontally at the ankle around the very bottom of the leg. DO NOT wrap the tape tightly around the foot.

Step 31: Take another 07-inch strip of tape and tape horizontally above the previous strip of tape and overlap by a ½-inch. DO NOT wrap the tape tightly around the foot.

Step 32: Take another 07-inch strip of tape and tape horizontally above the previous strip of tape and overlap by a ½-inch. DO NOT wrap the tape tightly around the foot.

Step 33: Take another 07-inch strip of tape and tape horizontally above the previous strip of tape and overlap by a ½-inch. DO NOT wrap the tape tightly around the foot.

Step 34: Repeat the previous Steps to make the shoe for the left-foot.

Step 35: Wear and walk around with the Home-Made Carpet Tape Shoes for at least a few hours. We’re not done yet making the shoes. Carry-on with Step 36.

Step 36: You’ll notice your Home-Made Carpet Tape Shoes feel comfortable. You’ll also notice you can’t take off the Home-Made Carpet Tape Shoes. So we’re going to fix that right now.

Step 37: Take your scissors and CAREFULLY – CAREFULLY cut straight down the INSIDE of the left & right shoe. We’re going to cut down to the INSIDE of each shoe and both pairs of socks, down to ankle area or the near the bottom of the foot.

Step 38: Remove both shoes. Remove the outer layer of socks and repair them with needle and thread (save money). The other pair of socks are stuck to the sides and top of the carpet tape and the socks will stay with your shoes. Put on the 3rd pair of socks and put on both Home-Made Carpet Tape Shoes.

Why You Shouldn’t Go Barefoot In Your House!

In 02 words, here’s why you shouldn’t go barefoot in your house – plantar’s wart.

I don’t care how clean your floors are, you can still get a plantar’s wart (wart at the bottom of your foot). And I gotta tell you – excuse my language, every single step, they HURT LIKE A BITCH.

So go make you a pair of Home-Made Carpet Tape Shoes and save you from paying an expensive out-patient hospital bill.
