Here’s a sleep improvement concoction that I stumbled upon the Winter of 2021.  Why it works?  I have no idea.

I continued my research till December 2021.  Here are my results.

Good Deep Sleep!

The Winter of 2021 (January – March), I started making salads like I regularly do.  My salads included:

  • Lettuce (head lettuce not bagged)
  • Sliced Organic Carrots
  • Black Olives (medium or small)
  • Tomato Slices
  • Broccoli Slices
  • Cauliflower Slices
  • Cucumber Slices
  • Bacon Bits (Hormel Real Crumbled)
  • Blue Cheese Dressing (not diet)

This is my regular salad.  But this time I added 01 more ingredient – 03 large Garlic Cloves taken from a large Garlic Bulb.  I peeled the garlic cloves and sliced em’ up to small nuggets and added all of it to my salad.  I ate the salad while watching a video.  And that was that.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Eating fresh garlic has a ‘BITE’ to it.  When you taste that strong pungent taste, you know you got some good healthy garlic.  One famous doctor on YouTube states that after slicing-up the garlic cloves, you should wait 10-minutes before consuming the garlic so to let the allicin activate to be beneficial.

OK, let’s carry-on.

I got up the next morning and felt like I slept a full 12-hours of deep sleep (keep reading).  I’m always a very light sleeper.  But this I felt energized and ready-to-go because of all the restful ‘good deep sleep.’

Why did I feel so good?  I didn’t figure it out till remembering the 03 garlic cloves that I ate with my salad.

That next evening, I made another salad and added the 03 sliced-up garlic cloves.  And sure enough, I got up the next morning have a ‘good deep sleep.’

I carried-on making salads with 03 large garlic cloves just about every day for a 03-weeks.  As a result, I got some really ‘good deep sleep’ those 03-weeks.  Some days I made no salads and I still got some ‘good deep sleep.’

I wanted to do some testing of ‘good deep sleep’ relating to consuming garlic cloves.  So I STOPPED making salads for 03-months (March, April, May 2021).  Those 03-months, I slept but not with the ‘good deep sleep’ when I ate sliced-up garlic cloves.

In June and July 2021, I started making salads complimented with sliced-up garlic cloves.  Again, I started getting ‘good deep sleep.’  In my humble opinion, the garlic gloves were instrumental in giving me some ‘good deep sleep.’  Why?

I have no idea, nor do I care why.  All I know is that when adding sliced-up garlic cloves to my salads, I get some ‘good deep sleep.’

So to add more proof to my experiment, I stopped consuming garlic cloves in late July 2021.  And sure enough, that consistent ‘good deep sleep’ went away.

On 09 December 2021 (Thursday), I again started eating my special salads loaded with sliced-up garlic cloves.

Again, I got the same results.  I got some ‘good deep sleep.’  I deliberately skipped eating my salads and I still got some ‘good deep sleep.’

As a matter of fact, last night (17 Dec. 2021 – Friday), I didn’t eat a salad.  Last night I went to sleep and today

(18 Dec. 2021 – Saturday), I finally got out of bed at 12 noon.  I got some ‘good deep sleep’ – at least 12-hours.

So my final conclusion is that 03 garlic cloves (large) somehow has me getting some ‘good deep sleep.’

Does ‘Good Deep Sleep’ Aid In Living Longer?

I surely believe it does.  And my study is not based on any human study.  It’s based on a study of cats.

Cats love to sleep.  They take cat naps all the time.  Scientific research indicates cats sleep as much as 12 to 16 hours a day.

Here’s a fact.  I had these 06-cats that were born in 2006.  I nicknamed them ‘The Belleville Wrecking Crew’.  In 2007, I brought them to my new house in October 2007.  It’s now December 2021.

Over the last few years, 05 of the 06 cats to include their mother, passed away.  Only 01 cat remains.  Her name is Rickie.

Rickie does one thing all the other cats didn’t do.  She slept like her brothers & sisters and Momma, but she did the following.

In October of each year, her fur turns darker and she starts hibernating.  Rickie gets under the covers of my bed or wherever she’s sleeping and she stays there till March when it starts to warm-up.  She only comes out to eat & drink and use the litter box.

Right now, as I write this segment (181625C December 2021), Rickie is sleeping under a blanket.  She put herself there.  She ducks her head and burrows under a blanket or a few blankets.  One time I found her burrowed not only under all the blankets and the sheet but she burrowed under the tight bread spread sheet.  She sleeps more than any regular home cats.

And I believe that extra sleep during the Fall and Winter months has kept Rickie alive longer than her brothers and sisters who were brought up in the same environment and fed the same cat food.

Garlic – Bottom Line!

On your doctor’s approval, consider adding fresh sliced-up garlic cloves to your salads and other foods.  Garlic has a long history of healing remedies.
